Do We Use The Stimulus Plan or Not?

Ever since the election of Obama, there has been some heated debate about the stimulus plan. Some people say that the stimulus plan is a great idea, saying that it will jumpstart the economy and create more jobs. Some people have very negative views on it, stating that it is a waste of money and that the government should not get involved in such a situation. I look at the stimulus plan from this perspective: Who is going to bail the people out? The people need jobs. The people need the money. I can relate. I am out of work right now and I am in college. This brings me to another question: Where is the money really going? Personally, I don't know. If there is a way to know, please let me know, because I don't know. That is another part of government that is scary. Few people know where the money is going to. The people have a right to know where their tax dollars are going. How is the stimulus really helping the economy? I am not saying that the government shouldn't help out. In fact, I believe that the government should help out in a situation where the economy is going through hard times. With that said, there should be some accountability to where that money is going. People are in need of job, NOW! Some people would say that we are a step closer to socialism now. Well, how do we know if the economy would come back? The Great Depression required some intervention from the government. This isn't that much more different than then. Furthermore, what about Bush? He spent so much money on a war that does not seem to end. What were the fruits of that labor? Not much. Money that could have been spent helping the USA economy goes toward a war that should have been fought a better way. I just want to see some results for this and more attention paid to the people.
